10 Tips to Create a Welcoming Guest Bedroom

It's that time of year again! Summer has arrived, and that means it's the perfect opportunity to host your loved ones for a visit. If you're planning to have guests stay overnight, you might be wondering how you can make their stay as cozy and comfortable as possible, just like a Bed and Breakfast experience. Whether you have a designated guest room or need to make some space elsewhere in your home, there are plenty of things you can do to make your guests feel welcome. Check out these ten helpful tips to ensure your guests have a wonderful stay in your home.

Tip no 1. Big mirror

Having a floor-length mirror in the guest room is convenient for your visitors. It allows them to not only check their outfit for the day, but also to use it for hair and makeup when the bathroom mirror is occupied.

Tip no 2. Coffee corner

Providing a Keurig or Nespresso machine in the guest bedroom is a thoughtful gesture for the morning. A majority of individuals crave a cup of coffee as soon as they wake up, and this amenity enables them to indulge in their morning beverage while preparing for the day. Additionally, it alleviates the discomfort of unexpected encounters in sleepwear during morning routines.

3. Local brochures and menus

If your guests plan to explore on their own while staying with you, it would be helpful to recommend some of your favorite local attractions, events, and dining options.

4. Fresh towels

As a helpful tip, we suggest providing 2 towels and a washcloth for each guest. It's best to arrange them on the bed or a nearby chair to indicate they are for their use.

5. Extra blankets + a fan

People have varying preferences when it comes to sleeping temperatures. Some individuals prefer colder temperatures, while others enjoy being wrapped in multiple blankets. In case there is no ceiling fan, it might be helpful to offer a portable fan. Additionally, it would be ideal to have extra blankets neatly folded in the closet or placed at the end of the bed.

6. WiFi password

A helpful suggestion could be to display your WiFi password on a frame placed on the dresser. This way, your guests can conveniently access the internet without the need to ask you for the password.

7. Basket of toiletries

It's always a thoughtful gesture to have a basket of essential items ready for your guests in case they forget anything. Some items to consider including are toothbrushes, toothpaste, mini shampoo and conditioner, soap, mini deodorant, a hairdryer, a brush, and tampons. Your guests will surely appreciate the extra effort and care you put into making their stay comfortable.

8. Fresh robes and slippers

This is truly impressive and leaves a lasting impression! I recall a family friend from my childhood who owned monogrammed robes and slippers for guests, and the memory still remains vivid in my mind.

9. Luggage stand

It's wonderful to have a designated space to unpack and store your suitcase, as it gives the room a hotel-like vibe.

10. Minimalist decor

For a more serene atmosphere, it's best to keep the decor minimalistic. As the guest will be bringing their own belongings, a clutter-free space will aid in their relaxation and comfort. Avoid over-the-top decorations.

We hope this guide proves useful in your preparations for hosting overnight guests. With everything in order, you can now relax and enjoy your time with them, basking in the praise for your exceptional hospitality.
